Types of welded joints and seams in arc welding

Welds can be divided into 4 types: butt, tee, corner and overlap.
Itself is crystallized weld metal, which is in the process of welding is in the molten state.
Butt weld is designed to connect end-face parts, and the thickness of them can be different (Fig. 102).

Butt joints are widely used in mechanical engineering, as well as the welding of large tanks and pipes. In the T-butt weld a piece welded to the side of the other (Fig. 103).

Typically, these compounds have the form of the letter "T" (hence the name).
Elements in the T-joint can be connected as a right, and at any other angle. Fillet connects two elements that are at any angle to each other (Fig. 104).

These sutures were used in the construction.
When joining two sheets of metal, in which one leaf is applied to another with an overlap, lap weld is formed (Fig. 105).

Lap joints are used in the construction of metal molds, tanks, etc.
